What is Hadoop? 

                         Hadoop was created by Doug Cutting and Mike Cafarella in the year 2005. Doug Cutting named the framework after his child’s stuffed yellow toy elephant. Doug used the name for his open source project because it was relatively easy to spell, pronounce and meaningless.

Beginning in the 1930s, this timeline covers the explosion of information and how Big Data has created the need to organize and save information.
